These Vegware compostable containers are:

Vegware deli containers are made from polylactic acid (PLA), a bioplastic produced from corn and other natural starches such as wheat. These items are ideal for foods up to 120° F.
The containers have a smooth finish and are as light and strong as their oil-based plastic counterparts. By contrast though, they are made from annually-renewable resources, are fully compostable, and generate fewer greenhouse gasses during production. These compostable PLA containers are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional disposables. Made from corn-based PLA renewable resources, they are completely compostable within 50-100 days in commercial composting facilities. Superior in strength and performance, non-toxic, and clear in color, these container are the perfect solution for your food and storage needs.
Our containers are available in 12oz, 16oz, and 24oz sizes. There is one lid (sold separately) which fits both 12 and 16 oz containers, and another (sold separately) for the 24 oz container.

In addition to being certified to ASTM6400 or ASTM6868 for all products, we have attained "OKCompost" certification for our cold cups, cold cup lids, and PLA food containers. OKCompost is a higher standard then BPI. We also have Din Certo certification for our hot cups and hot cup lids. We have BPI certification for our hot & soup cups, hot cup lids, cold cups, cold cup lids, PLA food containers, cutlery, and our bagasse plates and containers. Vegware also has Cedar Grove certifications on all product categories excluding our bagasse line. We were awarded FSC-COC certification for our Kraft Paper Cup, showing once again, that Vegware US is in compliance with the highest social and environmental standards on the market.
All of our products are completely traceable to its source at all times, every time. We will make available to our customers certification of analysis on all products delivered by lot number, ensuring that each cup, bowl, and spoon is individually traceable to the source. This new program is head and shoulders above anything that currently exists, because each batch will be certified as opposed to a blanket certification that lasts ten years. This guarantee is available only through the Completely Compostable Vegware US.
